Liverpool
A Day in Liverpool
When going to Liverpool my bucket list item was anything to do with The Beatles. Since I was a kid I have listened to all of their albums with my Dad and Liverpool had naturally always been a mythical place in my mind as a result. This brief trip consisted of three stops, the docks, Strawberry Fields, and an awesome night at the Cavern Club.
If you only have 24 hours in the city and appreciate classic rock I would recommend a hotel in the City Centre North District, I personally stayed at the Hard Days Night Hotel pictured below which both had an awesome location within a couple of block of the Cavern Club but also fit perfectly into the Beatles vibe this trip was attempting to embody.
If you love the song Strawberry fields as I do visiting the Salvation Army's Strawberry Fields was well worth a stop. A visit in early March was very serene, a stop in the museum and then the gardens was the perfect way to unwind. As a souvenir I found a miniature replica of the Strawberry Fields gate cast that works as a perfect reminder of this place that now hangs in the bar area of our house.
After grabbing some dinner after Strawberry Fields we made our way to the Cavern Club, the most iconic place in Liverpool where so many of Brittains greatest musicians got their starts. The music at the Cavern Club was awesome if you like classic british rock with a few other songs sprinkled in.
Craft Beer Pick of the Day: While at the Cavern Club I enjoyed a couple of pints of Lovelane Brewing's Pale Ale which was fantastic, an easy drinkable pale ale was perfect to enjoy some great British music.
Before leaving town I took a walk down to the docks where there are many statues of things that impacted Liverpool from The Beatles to a Titanic monument this was a great easy morning stroll.
Awesome Breakfast Pick of the Day: For Breakfast we walked over to the Moose Coffee company. This place does not just have coffee and pastries but a full array of breakfast options including pancakes with powdered sugar for myself and pancakes with ice cream for my wife.
Here we are at the Cavern Club with my new Cavern Club scarf and a Lovelane Pale Ale
